Koenig Siddall First Generation Scholarhship

The purpose of this fund will be to provide recognition and financial assistance to Keene State College students who are first generation students and residents of the United States. Other factors in considering the recipients include financial and other barriers blocking their pathway to higher education, being in good academic standing, and demonstrating an interest to take full advantage of an immersive college experience. Recipients must have demonstrated financial need. All applicants will submit an essay of up to 300 words describing why they chose Keene State College and how their college experience will be enhanced by receiving the Koenig Siddall First Generation Scholarship. Consideration for this award shall be given to outstanding full-time matriculated students who are U.S. residents and are among the first: " in their family to arrive in the United States (and/or); " in their family to be born in the United States. Two scholarships shall be awarded to first year students and two scholarships shall be awarded to a rising, new or transferring sophomore, junior or senior. Awards are for two semesters only, but prior recipients may re-apply. Recipients of this scholarship shall be selected through the college’s scholarship application process as administered by the Office of Financial Aid, along with the Office of Diversity and Inclusion. Office of Financial Aid will determine final selection. Beginning in Fall 2022, four eligible students will each receive an annual scholarship of $3,000 with $1,500 distributed each semester. If the award cannot be given in any particular year, the funds will be retained for awarding in the next academic year.
